Starting on a Journey....

Come with me as I start on this journey! This blog is for my company Bryleigh Books & Crafts. This blog will showcase my journey in starting a new business and also the many joys and passions in my life. 2023 is the year of just starting. I have been dreaming of doing my own business for years, where I am in control of what I do and how much I work, spending time on the things that bring me joy, and working on my passions. I encourage all of you to do the same.

Bryleigh Books & Crafts is dedicated to my favorite people in the world – my 2 grandchildren and is named after them. It is also dedicated to my daughter and son-in-law, who brought these two beautiful treasures into our lives.

Who am I? I am an extremely proud grandmother of 2 – one is a US Marine and the other is a crazy horse-obsessed about-to-be-driving teenage girl. I was a single Mother, raising my daughter, who taught me so much about life and what real love is. I work in corporate America as a Program Director, but my journey was not typical, I dabbled in my early 20’s in retail management and then transitioned to Administrative Assistant to Executive Assistant. I followed my heart in my middle 30’s and went back to school and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration when I was 38. Once I earned the degree was promoted to Operations Manager then Program Manager to most recently Program Director.

My hobbies are:

  • Crafting – any kind – it’s my therapy.

    • Cricut

    • Scan n Cut

    • Designing – love taking ideas and creating my own version of it

  • Buying Crafting Supplies – you know this is a hobby, right?

    • I can’t resist all the pretty things!

  • Baking – especially with my granddaughter.

  • Being a mentor.

    • You learn so much from being a mentor – everyone should do it!

  • Helping people become more organized.

  • Attending theatre, dinner, trivia, and local fairs with my friends and family.

  • Gardening

    • Hate to mow but I love all the other outdoor gardening aspects.

  • Love to learn – so I am always up for a class – some I have taken:

    • Bead making class

    • Creating mini-albums

    • Glass flowers

    • Creating a stamp

    • Painting (not my forte – but it was fun)

    • So many crafting techniques…

This blog will be mostly about crafting and my business journey but will also include some other interesting topics and I can’t wait to share them with all of you!

This first post is just an introduction to me and who I am – I hope to meet many of you really soon!
